The theme of this week's #FriFotos is Cocktails.  This image of the appetizers and sangria was taken with our trusty iPhones on an unbelievably toasty day in St. Augustine, Florida--the temperature was around 110° and the humidity was over 90%.  Because we had to walk a...

30 Jan Getting Over a Fear: Helicopter Style

Posted at 09:55h in Blog, Florida, Outdoor Adventure, South Florida, United States by Jenna Kvidt 7 Comments

In 2012, I conquered two of my biggest fears. I finally took a ride in a helicopter, and I got over my fear of flying in small planes by taking a flying lesson. It all started when I was in 3rd grade while visiting Paul...

19 Dec Christmas in the Sun

Posted at 09:45h in Blog, Florida, South Florida, United States, Urban Adventure, West Coast Florida by Jenna Kvidt 5 Comments

In my mind, Christmas is bundling up in a sweater and listening to the crackle of a fireplace with snow on the ground outside, and now that we live in Florida, I kind of miss the Minnesotan version of Christmas. Thankfully, the beautiful weather and...

Posted at 09:40h in Blog, Central Florida, Florida, United States by Jenna Kvidt 11 Comments

The Orlando area has a ridiculous amount of hotels and I always find myself unsure of trying out a new place when visiting. While there are many budget friendly hotels, some of them are downright scary. I have found a few middle of the road...

I'd be lying if I said Orlando wasn't overflowing with Mickey Mouse and theme parks galore, but underneath all the theme park hype, Orlando really does have many other fun and unique activities to offer. I can't even begin to count how many times I've...

Instagram post 17845601746828064 It’s 1°F here in Minnesota right now 🥶 The temps have us wishing we were back in Key West, Florida, riding a jet ski around the island! We loved getting out on the ocean to explore in a jet ski—it’s something we’ve wanted to do for quite some time, and we finally had the chance last time we were in Key West! Hope you all have a little warmth and sun wherever you are in the world today! ⠀
Instagram post 17858825125584253 One of our favorite places to snorkel in the Florida Keys is John Pennekamp State Park! We went on a tour with the state park and made our way out to the Christ of the Abyss statue for an afternoon of snorkeling. The reef there is beautiful and there is a ton of marine life. It was such a fun afternoon in the water! ⠀
Instagram post 17907979114372636 Last time we were in Key West we went kayaking in clear kayaks! We paddled through crystal clear waters and it almost felt as though we were gliding through the air. It was such a strange but amazing experience! ☀️ 🐠 ⠀
Instagram post 17870964514500753 Views of the 7 Mile Bridge and the Old 7 Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys. 🏝 We always love stopping and going for a walk on the old bridge when we are exploring the Keys! ⠀ ⠀ The Old Seven Mile Bridge is currently closed and under construction, but normally it’s home to a 2.2 mile biking and walking trail from Marathon to Pigeon Key. Can’t wait for it to open up again (in 2021), so we can make another pit stop at one of our favorite spots. In the meantime though, you can still take a boat tour out to Pigeon Key to learn about the fascinating history of the island and both of the bridges! ⠀
