Micah and I lived in South Florida for 4 years, and we’ve visited the area more times than we can count. We even had a destination wedding and got married in Palm Beach County, in Delray Beach, FL, to be exact. After moving to Florida,...

Posted at 08:41h in Blog, Florida, South Florida, United States, Urban Adventure

Sea turtles are abundant in South Florida, and throughout the past couple of years, we have been lucky enough to have numerous turtle encounters with both adult sea turtles and adorable baby hatchlings. Florida beaches are important nesting grounds for sea turtles—loggerhead sea turtles are the...

30 Jan Getting Over a Fear: Helicopter Style

Posted at 09:55h in Blog, Florida, Outdoor Adventure, South Florida, United States

In 2012, I conquered two of my biggest fears. I finally took a ride in a helicopter, and I got over my fear of flying in small planes by taking a flying lesson. It all started when I was in 3rd grade while visiting Paul...

19 Dec Christmas in the Sun

Posted at 09:45h in Blog, Florida, South Florida, United States, Urban Adventure, West Coast Florida

In my mind, Christmas is bundling up in a sweater and listening to the crackle of a fireplace with snow on the ground outside, and now that we live in Florida, I kind of miss the Minnesotan version of Christmas. Thankfully, the beautiful weather and...

Did you know the northern lights were out last nig Did you know the northern lights were out last night? 😆 Ha, we figured we had to add some photos to the gazillion that are already online.

It truly was an epic show though. We were watching from the lake in Minnesota. I couldn’t pull myself away and stayed up watching until 4:30 a.m. It was fascinating to see the aurora borealis in all directions, most of the purples we saw were all over the sky right around sunset and throughout the night in the south. It was crazy to hear how active all the wildlife was, too. I heard birds, animals splashing in the water, coyotes howling, and geese honking like crazy.

Hopefully we will all get another fantastic show tonight!
