12 Dec Christmas in Chicago
Chicago is a special place at Christmastime—I always love when cities get all decked out for the holidays and Christmas in Chicago is no exception. We finally had the chance to make a return trip to Chicago, and we are so excited that it could be during the festive holiday season. It’s been quite some time since we last stepped foot in the windy city. Our last visit was before we moved to Florida four years ago, and so it was high time for another visit, especially since it is so close and such an easy trip from Minneapolis!
The weekend was spent checking out some great coffee shops, restaurant hopping, indulging in sweet treats (ahem, Doughnut Vault, aka the best doughnuts ever), ice skating by “The Bean”, overlooking the city from the Signature Lounge in the John Hancock Building, Christmas lights at the Lincoln Zoo, shopping and wandering around soaking up the sights and the lights. Oh, and side note—do yourself a favor and check out Eataly for the wine and meat and cheese platter—delicious. The store is set up like a market where you can eat, drink and shop all at once.
We missed checking out the Christmas market, but here’s a look into the city in all its holiday glory!
