A Photo Essay: Brussels, Belgium

We didn’t spend much time in Brussels, and we definitely didn’t feel a connection with Brussels like we did with Ghent and Bruges, but it was a pretty place nonetheless. There were some aspects of the city that we enjoyed, others we didn’t and a couple of pretty funny incidents that we encountered. Like when we were waiting for our train in a crowded and quiet but thankfully heated room, and the lady sitting directly across from us lifted up her leg and let a big one rip and then continued to carry on like nothing happened. Everyone around acted like they didn’t hear a thing either. Call us immature, but it was incredibly hard to keep a straight face and not laugh. And when that happens and you try to hold your laughter in, it then just gets that much harder–we had to make a quick exit before we lost it. Anyways, that really has nothing to do with Brussels itself, but I just felt the need to share–as apparently did the lady across from us…

I’ll be sharing more about what we liked and didn’t like about the town soon, as well as a video we made in Belgium. But, for now, here is Brussels from our eyes:

Love the pictures of Belgium….just beautiful! I love the cobblestone streets. The streets in Fergus used to be cobblestone and was very disappointed when they removed them. I enjoy seeing all your travels. Gramma Dar

Love your photos! One of my favorite is the line of those rental bicycles. Belgium is in my travel wish list now.

Thanks! You should definitely make a trip there if you have a chance–we really enjoyed the entire country. I loved how many bicycles were around too–I wish we would have rented one to take a ride!
