28 Jul  Summer Adventures at Lutsen Mountains

Posted at 09:55h in Blog, Minnesota, Outdoor Adventure, United States

Lutsen Mountains is one of our favorite spots in Minnesota. In the winter, you can ski, snowboard, snowshoe, and more at one of the best and largest ski resorts in the Midwest. And, in the summer there’s an entirely different, but equally fun set of...

26 Feb Skiing in a Snowstorm at Lutsen Mountains

Posted at 09:30h in Blog, Minnesota, Outdoor Adventure, United States

The snow was pelting my eyes. Shielding my face, I struggled to see and attempted to make it down the hill upright. I wasn’t crying, but that didn’t stop the tears from streaming down my face and creating a thin layer of ice on my...

12 Aug Alpine Slide and Mountain Tram at Lutsen Mountains

Posted at 10:10h in Blog, Minnesota, United States, Urban Adventure

We sprinted toward the chairlift just as they closed the rope to the entrance. After an out of breath, "are we too late?", they told us to hop on, but quickly! The alpine slide was closing for the day and we made it on with...

Posted at 09:33h in Blog, Minnesota, Outdoor Adventure, United States

Although there are numerous trails at Cascade River State Park, we had our eyes set on hiking two of them. We wanted to hike the 3.5 mile loop to Lookout Mountain and the 7 mile trail that follows the Cascade River. Due to lack of...

Did you know the northern lights were out last nig Did you know the northern lights were out last night? 😆 Ha, we figured we had to add some photos to the gazillion that are already online.

It truly was an epic show though. We were watching from the lake in Minnesota. I couldn’t pull myself away and stayed up watching until 4:30 a.m. It was fascinating to see the aurora borealis in all directions, most of the purples we saw were all over the sky right around sunset and throughout the night in the south. It was crazy to hear how active all the wildlife was, too. I heard birds, animals splashing in the water, coyotes howling, and geese honking like crazy.

Hopefully we will all get another fantastic show tonight!
