01 May A Photo Essay: Bologna, Italy
A trip to Italy should be all about the food, right? Even though there are many active adventures we would love to scope out in Italy one day, this trip was all about foodie adventures and some relaxation. The only activity we had officially planned was a food tour to explore Emilia-Romogna, the food capital of Italy. We based ourselves in Bologna, for all but one night, and spent most of our days wandering around and soaking up the culture of the city.
We were planning on climbing the Twin Towers, walking up to the Santuario di Madonna di San Luca via the Portico with 666 arches, and indulging in delicious Italian treats, but only the last item on that list was accomplished. After a crazy busy week running around Colorado and Utah, driving back home to my parents for my dads birthday and then jetting off on an almost 24 hour day of flights and layovers, the only thing we felt like doing was relaxing.
