04 Feb Local Hangout: 3RD & 3RD in Delray Beach, Florida
Our favorite restaurant and bar in Delray Beach is not located on the popular Atlantic Ave–it is a little off the beaten path at the intersection of 3rd Street and 3rd Ave, hence the name, 3RD & 3RD. With delicious food, a living room style atmosphere, unique artistic decor, large bar, and outdoor patio with lawn games, the vibe is more down to earth and laid-back than the majority of places on Atlantic Ave, and it’s precisely why we have grown to love it so much.
The restaurant’s owner, John Paul Kline, hails from the Northeast and has been a chef for many years. He has also owned a catering business for the past 9 years, which he now runs along with the restaurant. Here is a short documentary style video Micah filmed about the creation of the restaurant:

Located in the heart of Delray’s artist district, you can find an abundance of local art nearby. Every third Thursday of the month, the area art studios open their doors for a monthly artist walk. We love browsing the studios and then heading over to 3RD & 3RD for food and drinks after–it makes for a fun and eventful evening.
The menu is more small plate style and because they use fresh, seasonal ingredients, the menu is constantly changing around a few staple items. I can honestly say that I have loved every meal I have ever had there–I always enjoy trying the unique and innovative items on the menu. Some of my favorite meals I’ve had are the salmon lasagna, the kale salad, quinoa fried rice, the jars (which are a rotating variety of dips), the burger with blue cheese and the amazing red onion jam, the truffle fries and the steak, chicken and shrimp skewers. The list could really go on but those have been my absolute favorites so far!
3RD & 3RD is open every day but Sunday, happy hour runs from open, at 4:30, until 6:30 and there is live entertainment many weekend nights. The one year anniversary party is February 20th, and they are serving complementary hors d’oeuvres, sliders and skewers. So, if you are around the Delray Beach area, you should head on over!
Disclosure: Micah has been along for the ride with this restaurant before it was open–he started working with the owner to create a short documentary style video and take photographs of the menu items, but let me tell you, we would love this place either way and we were never asked to write a review. As always, all opinions are our own.
