28 Aug A Photo Essay: Nashville, Tennessee
Although Nashville is certainly the go to spot for all things county music, this certainly isn’t the only thing that the city has to offer. Thankfully for us, we have a cousin attending college in Music City, so when we were passing through, we couldn’t help but stop to do some exploring. Our one day gallivanting around the city was definitely too short, but we still managed to cover quite a bit of ground.
Confession time: I may be hooked on the TV show Nashville. And, much to Micah’s dismay, I may have made us stop by a few of the shows iconic spots, such as Deacon and Scarlet’s house and the Bluebird Cafe. But I digress.
In other news…we also explored some coffee shops and boutiques located in funky neighborhoods that I would have never expected to find in Nashville. A quick stop to walk down music row was also a necessity–I just had to check it out as my curiosity got the best of me when I saw they were filming in the street. It turns out it was just an ad for a truck, but it was interesting nonetheless!
We also made a stop at my cousin’s horse barn–I can’t believe how peaceful it was even though the city is so close by. It was fun to see all the space the horses have, and the wildflowers were blooming in all their beautiful glory! The iconic Loveless Cafe was also on our itinerary, and I’m sure glad it was. There is nothing like the fresh baked biscuits and delicious southern home cooking–our chicken dinners were to die for!
Overall, Nashville is much smaller than I expected–it still has that exciting city feel but with a hometown charm. We had the perfect introduction to this fascinating city–have a look at what we were able to see during our one day in Nashville!
Have you ever been to Nashville? Are you a fan of Music City, too?
