Flower at the Rodin Museum

Photos in Full Bloom

April showers bring May flowers, and wow, did we ever have quite a huge thunderstorm yesterday–it was raining sideways, so heavily that an umbrella barely helped. I was soaked! Thankfully the rain brings flowers, fruit and pretty things that blossom, and just in time for this weeks #FriFotos theme: Blooms. Here are some of my favorite photos of flowers we have spotted on our travels:

Niagara on the Lake is a charming little town in Ontario, Canada, not far from Niagara Falls. The streets are lined with pretty vibrant flowers adding to the town’s character.

We found this lone flower at the Rodin Museum in Paris. It was November–there wasn’t much in bloom at the time, so this beauty stood out quite nicely.

On our hike to Maunawili  Falls, we had to struggle through the muddy rainforest to reach our prize at the end of the path: the waterfall. Thankfully, the scenery was absolutely beautiful and this is one of the many flowers we saw along the way.

Even in the winter, the United States Botanic Garden in Washington D.C. is a great spot to catch a glimpse of summer. The entire building was filled with fresh beautiful flowers and its fragrance was glorious.

The San Diego Zoo is famous for their huge variety of animals, and the grounds are just as pretty as well. This little flower shows just a tiny preview of the beauty throughout the park.

The Sunken Garden is one of the many displays at the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory in St. Paul, MN. This particular garden features floral shows that are updated every season.

After a citrus sinensis flower blooms, it turns into an orange fruit. Florida oranges are fresh, juicy and delicious, especially when picked right off the tree. I love picking oranges when we have a weekend in Orlando–it makes for a great relaxing afternoon in nature.
